Wishing good luck

This red card is a real eye-catcher! In a game of cards you not only need a good strategy, but also quite a bit of luck and Julie uses this card to wish someone just that. The new stamps of playing cards take centerstage.

Cut design paper to fit card blank and mat on to a slightly larger piece of black card and fix to card blank.  Cut the backing square in red card and layer onto a mat that has been cut in black card using the die from the set. Fix to the centre of the card.

Cut the heart strings in white card and layer across the card as shown.  Cut a few hearts in red card using the small heart die - and also cut a few extra in red - as I found these were a good size for the next bit!

Although the stamps are one each of the four suits found in a pack of cards, as it was for a good luck card- I wanted my suit to be all hearts and it was so easy to do, if you have the Mini Card Suits Die!  So, I stamped each of the card stamps in red ink and then cut out more hearts in red using the Mini Card Suits die (and the few from the heartstrings as above).  Basically, you could do this with any of the suits - all clubs, spades or diamonds - it makes the stamp set so very flexible! You could also mask the suit symbol before you stamp so it doesn't show and then add the symbol from the mini die cuts.

When I had stamped the card images and cut them out by hand, I also went around the edge of each card with a red marker - always a good tip if you're not great at cutting by hand like me! Fan them out as you would when playing cards and fix to the centre panel.  Add a couple of the large hearts in the bottom central corner of the  fan of cards.

Finally stamp the Good Luck sentiment in black ink on white card and cut around the edge.  Fix this onto black card and again cut round the edge following the lines of the sentiment.  Fix this to the bottom left corner of your card.
