Een dag op het strand
Julie made this fun mixed media card in summer theme. By using the Creatables Seam Foam she made it look like a real beach.
Begin by making your own beach toned backing papers. I’ve sprayed several colours in sea and beach colour sprays onto white card stock and then left the paper to dry. Once, dry, pick the sections that look like the beach and sea then layer onto a turquoise rectangle mat to fit card blank.
Stamp, die cut and colour the umbrella with alcohol markers. Then cut out the various elements in appropriate coloured card – the waves, birds and sign post. Also cut the lighthouse twice – once in white and once in orange card. To assemble, snip alternating sections from the white version and then layer onto the orange lighthouse base.
For the signpost, also cut two versions in white and then cut off just the sign parts for the sentiment. The sentiment I’ve chosen comes as one whole stamp in three lines, so for each line, I masked off the words that I didn’t want to stamp. There were one or two black dots where the word from the upper or lower lines stamped where I didn’t want them to show so I simply used a white gel pen to cover them up.
Cut out the shells in scraps of the remaining beach coloured paper that you made and then arrange all the elements and fix in place once you are happy with your design.
