Floral Spring greeting

This lovely floral card full of blossom immediate brings us a warm spring feeling. Outside the trees here also are in full bloom. Julie used Tiny's stamp and die sets to create this beautiful slimline card.

I’m really enjoying making cards with slim line card bases- the one I’ve used here is 10cm by 21cm – we call it a DL size here in the UK.   I also love the DL frame set that Marianne Designs has recently brought out- of course it fits the DL size perfectly.

First cut a piece of design paper to fit the card blank and fix in place with glue.  Use the large rectangular, scalloped edge die from the DL set to cut a pretty, edged mat.  Next cut a slightly smaller piece of smooth white card (suitable for using alcohol markers) to fit on to the mat.   Stamp the large blossom stamp along the long edge of the smooth card piece, changing the angle each time for variety.   I’ve used Memento Ink as I know the ink won’t smudge with my alcohol markers which I’ve used to colour in the blossom branches. Fix this piece in place once you have finished stamping and colouring.

Select your chosen sentiment and stamp about two thirds of the way down the card and to the right of the coloured blossom, I love how the handwritten sentiments are the perfect size to use with DL cards and these blossom stamps, Stamp and die cut the smaller blossom images and do the same with the bees.  Colour in and then fix in place with foam pads to add dimension to your card.    Stamp, cut and colour the butterfly from the Dragonfly set and again fix onto the card with a foam pad.  Finally use a few sequins or small rhinestones for a little extra detail.
