Haunted House

This spooky house is quite the scare! Julie Baker used various surprising combinations to create this card. Can you discover them all? This really is a work of art that you keep wanting to look at.

Firstly, using the Haunted House Stencil mark out the outline of the house and then cut out the outline. Fix orange tissue paper to the backs of the windows so that you can use a tea light behind to make your card look extra spooky once it is completed.  Then die cut out all the main elements in black card stock, and the pumpkins and ghost in orange and white card stock respectively.  Assemble all the various pieces such as the bats, the witch's hat and the faces, so that you have all the elements ready to complete your card.

I used the main die from the shadow box set as the base for my card, fixing the gates and the trees to the side panels.  I then attached the house to the back panel of the shadow box. I also used the branch dies from this set to fix along the top front of the house. Cut out the cobweb circle die and use the web edging along the top edge of the card.

I added spooky bats from the Halloween set to the gates, and the witch's hat from the set to the top of one of the house turrets.  I used folded acetate to fix the ghost to the front of the card so he wobbles a little!! Once I finished placing my grass, birds and cat, I fixed some googly eyes to the windows and the witch's hat to complete to the spooky feel!!
