Natte voeten op de steiger

This beautiful nautical card by Julie Bakers shows a lovely scene. The boats are in the water and it looks like someone with wet feel walked over the pier. Wat a fun effect the embossing gives!

Make the background sea paper by inking through the Ocean stencil with Distress Oxides in sea tones - remove the mask and spritz with water so that the colours flow into each other.  Allow to dry or dry with a heat tool.  When dry, matt onto toning blue card.

Cut out the desired image from the decoupage sheet with the square frame then cut out the frame again in the blue card.  Die cut the various elements such as the netting, ropes, pier and barrel in kraft card.  Run the pier die cut through your die machine again this time with the footprints die in the centre to create a line of wet footprints fading off to the edge of the pier.

Die cut the signpost and seagull die in scraps of wood toned papers - I've used scraps from Marianne's Weathered Wood and Sea Breeze paper sets.

To have the sentiment on each board of the signpost I cut the Follow Your Heart stamp into three but it's ok as you can still use it as a single sentiment stamp for other cards! Arrange the various die cuts as shown to create the scene, using some foam pads to lift the signpost off the page to add dimension.
