Paddenstoelen cadeaudoosje

Giving a small Christmas gift is much more fun when it is in a lovely little gift box like this one. Julie used the new wicker wreath to decorate the top. The little mushrooms really are an eye-catcher.

To start off, I would really recommend viewing the Box Workshop video on the Marianne Youtube channel to see how to make the box, it gives you all the measurements needed too.

Firstly make the base -  cut two strips of white card stock, each measuring 17cm x 6.5cm.  Using the smaller die from the teeth set, LR0673, die cut along the edge of each strip and then score along the edge of the teeth  and fold. Cut a white base using the smaller square die and fix the teeth around the edge of the square base using double sided tap.  Where the card overlaps on the sides of the base fix in place with double sided tape.  To cover the teeth at the bottom of the box cut another square and fix in place over the top.

Make the lid, in a similar process to the base but cut the lid from the larger square die.  Cut two strips of white card 18 cm x 3.5 cm and use the larger teeth die to cut.  Score as before then fix around the base. Fix another square from the large die to hide the teeth.

Now the fun part - decorate your box.  I've used this pretty toadstool paper to give a rustic feel and then edged with red raffia to add a little colour.  Cut out a wreath in Kraft card stock and fix onto the top of the lid with foam tape.  Cut out the cones, toadstools and branches in the scraps of red, brown, green and kraft card. Add some white paint to the  red toadstools to match the paper.  Layer the die cut elements onto the wreath and fix in place Add a double bow of string to finish.
