Seagulls by the beach

The new Ship Wheel is a great frame for this lovely stamped beach scene. Julie combined the stamp- and die set of the seagull with various other beach cutting dies.

Begin by die cutting a circle in white smooth card, approximately 9cm in diameter- this is the mat to create your stamped scene and fits perfectly behind the Ship’s Wheel die cut.  I’ve used some older Marianne stamps for the clouds and sand dunes, and the lighthouse and flying bird stamp from Tiny’s Beach Stamp and Die set to create the scene. I’ve then used the part of the lighthouse stamp without the lighthouse to extend the sea lines.   Stamp and die cut the large bird and wooden post onto a separate piece of white card and colour all in with alcohol markers.  Use a white gel pen to highlight the tops of the waves.

Cut a piece of design paper to fit the card blank leaving a small white border. Fix the coloured sea scene to the top centre of the card. Die cut the ship’s wheel in Kraft card, ink through the die for definition and then fix in place around the scene.  Place the coloured wooden post to the bottom right of the card and fix the large gull so that he is looking out at the sea scene.

Cut and die cut the remaining pieces for the bottom of the card in Kraft, white and grey card.  I’ve used wood effect paper to die cut the smaller wooden posts from Eline’s Sea Side set.  When die-cutting all the little shells, try to ink through the die before removing them to add definition and then fix all the pieces in place once you are happy with the layout.
