Red Robin in Winter
First of all I stamped my robin following the order shown on the stamp set starting with a light brown ink for the base, an orange/red ink pad for his redbreast and then a medium brown for the next two layers and a dark brown ink for the outline of the bird. I love this stamp as the layers come together so beautifully to produce the gorgeous image!
I used a 6 x6 card blank and cut a piece of paper from the Forest Dreams set to fit, matted first with a layer of red card. I then cut the red base for the frame in the same red card and cut the ornate lacy die in white. I layered the frame over the bird image and stuck this to the red mat.
The flowers are cactus flowers from the summer release but I think they look like poinsettias too so have used them here cutting the layers in white card and inking the edges in red ink before sticking the layers together.
I cut the holly leaves in green card and the pine cone branches in brown and then assembled my card as shown, sticking the various elements down once I was happy with my layout. Finally, I cut out the star tag and stamped the sentiment from the Happy Holidays stamp set. A few red pearls completed my card.
